Designing a child's room with dots

We all love dots as a pattern. Dots are beautiful! Above all, they are classic, versatile and, above all, timeless. But dots also have their very own charisma. They exude cheerfulness, liveliness, good humour and also a touch of nostalgia.

In any case, dotted textiles are certainly among the most popular. However, they are mostly at home in girls' rooms and babies' rooms. We don't know why. But apparently we associate dots mostly with feminine furnishing styles. Maybe it's also because of the very feminine and round shape.

Dots always work! No matter what colour. Restrained elegance in classic tones such as grey or blue. Lively in shades of green and pink or simply romantic in pink. The colour has a decisive influence on the charisma and effect of this pattern.

But the design also tells volumes. Because not all dots are the same. Polka dots look even more improvised and thus more fun-loving. Oval designs look very stylish and individual.

The effect in the surface is also impressive. Because when the surface is evenly covered, the result is a very calming grid that creates order. Different sizes in combination, and perhaps also different colours, stand for a maximum of improvisation and thus creativity. The effect could not be more contrasting. Hardly any pattern accommodates such a wide range.
