Semi-high cots are cots that are lower than classic loft beds but higher than cribs. What sounds so banal at first glance, however, has quite concise characteristics at second glance, with which advantages as well as disadvantages go hand in hand.

Advantages
If you are not quite comfortable with a pure loft bed due to the risks involved, then the half-height version is a good alternative for you. You retain the essence of the loft bed. Your child can sleep elevated and enjoy the adventurous character.

Your child still remains accessible to you. Saying goodnight, reading aloud, comforting or even checking up on them. It is also a safer alternative for children themselves. For example, if you want or need to get out of bed at night.

Disadvantages
Like everything, this Kids furniturealso has one or two disadvantages. Logically, the space under this version is not as large as with the very high version. Accordingly, it cannot be used as well. There is room to snuggle up or to stow away a few things.

However, a proper seating area or a workplace cannot be accommodated there.

The height of the children's room is not optimally utilised.

Many manufacturers now also offer numerous accessories for the half-height beds. These include Annette Frank, Asoral, Oliver Furniture and Alta.

These include textiles such as curtains that turn the bed into a play bed and, of course, nests or pillows.

Matching small furniture is also available. These are perfectly matched in terms of dimensions and thus make optimum use of the space. This includes shelves, containers or storage cabinets for storage.
